Students4Syria is a student organisation which seeks to empower students to become proactive members of society who are aware and nuanced on the Syrian civil war and able to assist the Syrian people currently suffering due to the conflict.
Adopting a refreshing angle to humanitarian aid work, we derive our passion to help the Syrians from Islamic principles of selflessness, justice and freedom.
Drawing on activism as a faith-based model of self-development, we hope to bring together like-minded, ambitious individuals who are committed to social change. Creating an action-orientated framework for self-development through projects which include raising awareness, fundraising and student-led campaigns with the aim to assist the Syrian people build a self-determined society.
We believe through our actions we can assist each other to become the change we want to see in the world. “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves” [13:11]. Through knowledge, speech, and action we believe we can connect the hearts of people across the UK with the difficulties others face. The experiences we take will help create role models who will go on and inspire our communities.
